The extreme drought of 2017 made more victims in our beautiful evergreen oak woodlands. Hundreds of cork oak of various ages suddenly died at the end of the drought season on one of the heritages we studied. At least 15 of them did not die in vain, as they donated a large chunk of science to tell how they drank the drought of the Mediterranean climate throughout their lives. A seca extrema de 2017 fez mais vítimas no nosso lindo Montado. Centenas de árvores de várias idades morreram subitamente no início do outono 2017, numa das herdades que estudamos. Ao menos 15 dentro delas não morreram em vão, pois doaram uma grande fatia do seu trunco à ciência para contar como aturaram o rigor das secas do clima Mediterrânico ao longo das suas vidas.
